-Spinal Manipulation
Chiropractic has a unique place in health care as we are able to utilize a variety of natural health services for our patients rather than limiting ourselves to a specific treatment protocol. One of the services we offer is spinal manipulative therapy, which is what people commonly refer to as chiropractic “adjustments”.  An “adjustment” is a fast, yet gentle, thrusting movement performed to areas of the spine that are fixated, painful, in spasm or just not moving properly.  By restoring proper motion, the joints can move freely through their full, natural range thus relieving unwanted stress on the surrounding soft tissue, bony structures, and nervous system. This is a very effective method for reducing pain and stiffness, improving overall function and athletic abilities, as well as to help prevent future problems during the aging process. Results are best when paired with spine strengthening protocols. Dr. Maidlow is proficient in many techniques; Palmer Package, Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson Drop, Activator Method, ArthroStim, Flexion/Distraction, Webster, and Extremities.

-Myofascial Therapy
The soft tissue of your body (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) often becomes tight and restrictive from injury, postural issues and daily wear and tear.  This can lead to stiffness, dysfunction, and pain. Dr. Maidlow utilizes several different techniques for treating the soft tissue of the body including Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Joint Mobilization, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, PNF Stretching, and other therapies to correct these issues. Scrapping techniques, cupping, and Kinesio Taping may also be used.

-Spinal Decompression

Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a type of motorized traction that may help relieve back pain. Spinal decompression works by gently stretching the spine. That changes the force and position of the spine. This change takes pressure off the spinal disks, which are gel-like cushions between the bones in your spine, by creating negative pressure in the disc. As a result, bulging or herniated disks may retract, taking pressure off nerves and other structures in your spine. This in turn, helps promote movement of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids into the disks so they can heal.

-Rehabilitation Therapy
The specialized rehabilitative training sessions focus on developing proper movement patterns of your spine and joints, restoring postural integrity and promoting gains in strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination of your entire body. With this treatment, chronic pain can be lessened over time. Personalized Home Exercise Programs are commonly prescribed to meet each patients needs!

Massage Therapy

-Deep Tissue
Deep tissue massage offers both physical and psychological benefits. It can relieve muscle pain and stiffness and provide stress-relieving relaxation for the body and mind. Unlike other massage techniques that focus on relaxation, deep tissue massage helps to treat muscle pain and improve stiffness. But it can still help to you unwind mentally, too.

-Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Lymphatic drainage massage is a form of gentle massage that encourages the drainage of lymph nodes and the movement of lymph fluids around the body. The fluid in the lymphatic system helps remove waste and toxins from body tissues. Some health conditions can cause lymph fluid to build up. Individuals with cancer, cardiovascular conditions, fibromyalgia to name a few, may benefit from the form of massage.

-Prenatal Massage
A prenatal massage is a full body massage performed by a certified prenatal massage therapist that is similar to a Swedish massage (like what you might experience at a spa) except for a few modifications with body positioning that can ensure the safety and comfort for both mother and baby. Women should always have a discussion with their prenatal care provider about their health before deciding on any type of massage therapy. Benefits include, reduce swelling, relieve pain naturally, improve sleep, and prepare your body for labor and birth,

-Therapeutic Massage
It is a holistic approach to health and wellness that combines manual manipulation of the body’s soft tissues with relaxation techniques to help reduce stress and pain. Therapeutic massage is used to treat various medical conditions, including chronic pain, headaches, muscle tension, and stress. It can also help to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. Therapeutic massage is a safe and effective way to treat a variety of medical conditions, and can be used in combination with other treatments to maximize results. It is important to note that therapeutic massage should not be used as a substitute for medical advice or treatment but as an addition to other treatments.

Most sessions include use of massage lotions, essential oils, hot towels or stones, and therapeutic music. Please advised us of any sensitivities prior to your appointment!

PEMF Therapy via MagnaWave

-What is PEMF Therapy?
Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields or PEMF is an innovative approach to wellness to rejuvenate the body. By harnessing the natural power of these magnetic fields, PEMF provides a non-invasive way to boost cellular metabolism. PEMF can penetrate deep into tissues, which may lead to a variety of health benefits, such as increased circulation, reduced inflammation, pain relief, and enhanced cellular repair.

-How does PEMF Therapy work?
Pulsed PEMF therapy sends magnetic energy into the body. These energy waves work with your body’s natural magnetic field to improve healing. The magnetic fields help you to increase electrolytes and ions. This naturally influences electrical changes on a cellular level and influences cellular metabolism. It works with your body’s own recovery processes to help relieve chronic pain. Best of all, it’s entirely safe

Ultimately, the human body requires electricity to sign signals throughout the body and to your brain. PEMF therapy effectively can realign the electricity in your cells. When a cell is stimulated, it allows positive charges to enter a cell in an open ION channel. The inside of this cell becomes positively charged, which will trigger other electrical currents, turning into pulses. This can positively influence movement, healing, and sending of signals. Any disruption in electrical currents can lead to dysfunction or illness. Pulsed PEMF therapy helps restore this disruption in electrical current to the normal state, which promotes overall wellness.

-Benefits of PEMF Therapy
Some of the most common benefits of this therapy include:

  1. Enhances the body’s natural recovery process

  2. Corrects cellular dysfunction throughout the body

  3. Stimulates and exercises cells to recharge cells

  4. Gives patients more energy naturally

  5. Improves athletic performance

  6. Reduces inflammation and pain

  7. Helps you recover from an injury faster
